Jess is providing training, group supervision, and individual supervision in FBT. She is also providing individual supervision for experienced (Package 3) clinicians.
Jess Ryan is a Clinical Psychologist and Family Therapist with extensive experience working with people with eating disorders across public and private sectors. She is passionate about family inclusive practices, believing that directly engaging families is beneficial in the recovery process and fostering greater understanding for those involved.
Jess currently works at The Victorian Centre of Excellence in Eating Disorders (CEED) as a Senior Clinical Psychologist and Team Leader. Within this role she leads a small team in providing clinical case consultation, training for health professionals and service development. Jess is particularly passionate about her work training and supporting clinicians in Family Based Therapy for Adolescent Anorexia Nervosa; and in providing leadership to Victorian CAMHS Services to deliver Multi Family Therapy for Anorexia Nervosa. Her work is motivated by a desire increase the accessibility of high-quality eating disorder treatment across Victoria and improve outcomes for people with eating disorder.
Jess is also an Associate Director at Nourish. Nurture. Thrive, a practice providing clinical psychology and dietetic support for people with eating disorders and body image concerns across the life span.
In supervision, Jess aims to create a safe space for clinicians to be curious and reflect on their work with clients and families. She endeavours to match supervision to the supervisees needs, whether that be practical strategies to build confidence in FBT-AN or responding to complex case presentations and clinical dilemmas which may arise. Her aim is always to help clinicians be intentional about the clinical decisions they are making the moment with families to ensure they are bringing about the best possible outcomes for those they work with.
