Monica Sekowski

Monica is a psychologist with areas of specialty in both Educational and Developmental psychology and Clinical psychology. Monica is currently employed as the Senior Psychologist at ICAMHS Campbelltown Hospital and as the principal psychologist at Eastern Suburbs Psychology. Monica has over 10 years’ experience treating children, adolescents, and young adults with eating disorders across inpatient and outpatient settings and in private practice. In addition, Monica held the position of Eating Disorders Coordinator for SWSAHS from 2019-2020 and has been offering clinical supervision to individuals and teams for over 5 years in NSW Health and in her role as Adjunct Fellow at WSU, School of Social Sciences and Psychology.

Monica has conducted research in the areas of body dysmorphic disorder and eating disorders in gay and bisexual men. Monica is also part of the Eating Disorders and Body Image research group at WSU.

Monica offers a collaborative, evidenced based approach to supervision. Working with case presentations and didactic teaching to enhance supervisee’s learning experience. Monica also draws on her own extensive clinical experience, providing illustrative case examples across treatment settings to enhance supervisees knowledge and skill set.

In addition, Monica can offer insights into the challenges of FBT in private practice settings as well as insider knowledge around how clinicians can best navigate the public health system with an eating disorder and when and how to escalate care.
