Resume
As an experienced psychologist with over 20 years supporting the wellbeing of people in the Illawarra in the Public Health system, I have moved into the sphere of private practice and work from a strengths-based framework, with adolescents and adults. I have a special interest and substantial experience in mental health, with a particular focus on eating disorders.
The scope of my training includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy – Eating Disorders (CBT-E), Maudsley Family Based Therapy (MFBT), Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), individualising treatment with Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Remediation Therapy (CRT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and self-compassion work, among others. I have worked extensively across the spectrum of eating disorders including early intervention through to severe and enduring.
I have vast experience in workforce development, service development, clinical supervision, and more recent experiences in tertiary teaching. Additionally, as a Board accredited supervisor, I can offer clinical supervision to psychologists.
I am particularly passionate about supporting clinicians to:
- explore and extend their treatment approaches in the eating disorders in an evidence based and trauma informed way,
- understand the function of eating disorders and match treatment to stage of change
- develop a compassionate approach and language for working with those experiencing eating disorders
