Helen will be providing group supervision following Anthea Fursland’s CBT-E training, group and individual supervision following Tracey Wade’s CBT-GSH training, and individual supervision following Rachel Knight’s SSCM training.
Dr Helen Rydge is a Clinical Psychologist who has been working in the eating disorders field for nearly 20 years. She has been involved in eating disorders from a service provisional level having previously worked as the Clinical Lead at InsideOut Institute for Eating Disorders, and spent many years as an Area Health Eating Disorder Services Lead. Helen has worked in the private practice context for more than 15 years. She has also been involved in a range of research trials and worked in the day program and inpatient environments. She works with teens and adults across the spectrum of eating disorders. Helen uses a range of treatment models in her practice, most prominently Family-based treatment, CBT-E, Motivational Enhancement therapy, ACT, DBT, MANTRA, Adolescent Focussed therapy and SSCM.
Helen has provided clinical supervision since 2011 and runs workshops on the treatment of eating disorders. She believes that consultation improves clinician confidence and competence, thus resulting in better outcomes for clients. Supervision may involve case presentations, which can he used to illustrate the core principles of eating disorders and their treatment. It may also be useful to revise a particular strategy (e.g., reviewing food diaries), using discussion, illustration and role play.
